Safety Tips
We know you've heard these before, but there's a reason. Spending a little more time taking a little more precaution can be the difference between waking up the next morning and not.
Tip #1 - Groups Are Best
When you have a chance, always go out with friends. Traveling with multiple people greatly reduces your chances of encountering dangerous situations. Plus, it can be more fun.
Tip #3 - Irish Goodbye
Leaving a situation isn't always easy because it can lead to awkward communication. But staying in a compromising environment can lead to much worse consequences.
Tip #5 - Defense 101
Whether it's karate, kickboxing or Capoeira, adding defense skills to your arsenal gives you a tremendous advantage. Pepper spray? Tasers? Check your state for legality concerns.
Tip #2 - Online Incoming
Things aren't always what they appear. And social media can be even crazier. Be careful who you're DMing whether it's pics or personal info. A bit of caution will go a long way in terms of safety.
Tip #4 - Responsible Rider
Taking Uber? RideShare? Way to be responsible, but make sure you check the license plate. Women are far more likely to get taken advantage of by fake drivers.
Tip # 6 - Give it Time
Disagreements are a part of life, but if they reach a point where you or others become emotionally flooded, take time apart. Time will help everyone see things more clearly.
